family support
Family Support Centers are here to help parents and other caregivers with the challenges of raising a child. The free, comprehensive services are for children from birth to three years of age and their parents. The Centers promote children’s healthy development through activities for parents and children as well as connect families to a solid network of lasting peer and professional support. Funding for the network of Family Support Centers is provided by the Maryland State Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, private foundations, corporations and individuals.
The Kingdom Kare Family Support Center provides comprehensive, wraparound support for pregnant and parenting teens, ensuring both parent and child have the tools needed to thrive. Through our Teen Parent Program, young mothers and fathers receive academic support leading to a high school diploma (not a GED), parenting education, life-skills training, workforce readiness, and access to critical resources such as childcare, transportation, and case management. In partnership with the Maryland Family Network, the Family Support Center strengthens protective factors, promotes family stability, and reduces repeat pregnancies by surrounding teen parents with consistent mentoring, education, and community-based support. Our goal is not just graduation—but long-term success, independence, and generational stability for Maryland families.
