MENTORING
Our mentoring program works with 25 students (boys & girls) who are at high risk for homelessness, school failure due to poor academic performance, poor attendance rates and high numbers of poor classroom behaviors.
Our program is offered 3 days a week after school and some weekends to provide academic skill-building and group discussions centered on anger management, conflict resolution, suicide prevention, bullying, goal setting, time management, stress reduction, teamwork, self-esteem, mental health, violence prevention, tobacco free living, and more!
Our long-term goal is to increase the number of students who improve in school, transition successfully to high school, remain in stable home environments, and develop positive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
